Homemade Sushi
Hi, bloggers! In this new post, I’m going to show you how to make sushi that’s super easy, quickly and most importantly, delicious!
Ingredients:
1 cup of sushi rice (or short-grain white rice)
2 tablespoons of rice vinegar (or white vinegar with a pinch of sugar)
3 sheets of nori seaweed
1 can of tuna or 4 surimi sticks (imitation crab sticks)
½ cucumber, cut into thin strips (seedless)
½ avocado, cut into strips
Mayonnaise to taste
Soy sauce for dipping
Optional:
Sushi mat (makisu) or a clean towel with plastic wrap
Instructions:
1. Cook the rice: Rinse the rice several times until the water runs clear. Cook it with 1 ¼ cups of water. Once done, let it sit for 10 minutes and mix with the vinegar.
2. Prepare the filling: Mix the tuna or surimi with mayonnaise. Have the cucumber and avocado strips ready.
3. Make the sushi: Place a sheet of nori on the mat. Wet your hands and spread a thin layer of rice on the bottom half of the nori. Add a line of filling (tuna or surimi), cucumber, and avocado near the bottom edge. Carefully roll it up, pressing gently with the mat to form the roll.
4. Cut and serve: With a wet knife, cut the roll into 6–8 pieces. Serve with soy sauce.
That’s it, bloggers! I hope you enjoy this recipe — it’s absolutely delicious. If you want me to make a specific recipe, leave it in the comments and I’ll make it next Wednesday. See you then!
